Going to Bull Run Regional Park just outside DC. Heading to Rolling Thunder with my Christian Motorcyclist Association Chapter family. Great event! First time staying at Bull Run.

Count us among the group that elects not to camp over the 3 major summer holidays. Too many heavy drinkers that become loud talkers that eventually become too rowdy. We camp almost half the summer... Better to be out there with the regular folk.

We will be at Rockwell RV Park, Oklahoma City, OK. On our return trip from the Grand Canyon. Been gone almost two months now. Will finally get back home on Saturday, May 30. We are having a great time. We are currently at the north rim of the grand canyon. Supposed to have 6" of accumulation today.

We will be at Chain of Lakes State Park in Illinois. We took positions as Camp Hosts for the summer and in return receive a free site for the summer. It's a good deal and a beautiful place run by committed State employees.

One of my favorites growing up. We would go there with 10 to 20 other families sometimes. I would spend hours on that lake just catching turtles. Have fun!

We just bought a Wildwood X-Lite and will be going to Gulf Hagus near Brownville Jct, ME. It;s wilderness camping with great hiking trails (AMC-AT). Next month headed to Minnesota. Can't wait to see the USA (from my TT instead of a hotel room)!

Thanks, this is our first time there. We got a lake view site. We drove through last year when we stayed at mountain vista campground.

Charleston,SC for a quick stop over on our way north to Williamsport,PA. We wouldn't normally travel on Memorial Day, but have to be in PA by the 29th and because of my wife's Fibromyalgia, she is only able to travel 4 or 5 hours a day even with rest breaks.
Remember all of those that sacrificed for us all. Safe Travels and Happy Memorial Day!

This thread has made me chuckle. Folks who live on the coast are heading to the mountains. Folks in the mountains are heading to the coast. We live near Charlotte and are heading to SW VA for the weekend, while other folks are heading to Charlotte for the race.
Guess it proves the grass is greener on the other side of the fence.

Safe travels everyone and a big THANK YOU to all who have served our country!

In general, and from our experiences from the past, we try and stay away from our local campground on holiday weekends. Our local one ( Randolph County ) is on the smaller side and gets quite congested.

Although, on our last weekend outing we had ventured to Rend Lake area campgrounds ( Sesser, Il ) and love the lake views, the larger spacious sites, the wildlife and the hospitality of the camp Host.

So ( weather permitting ) we have given thoughts to plan for a Holiday weekend there.

Happy Camping All, and don't forget to fly "Old Glory".

No Internet allowed in our HTT. Only have cell phone for emergencies.

This is our time to get away from it all. Now, if people want to come and enjoy they day......All welcome!
We will supply the food, the sweets, and campfire!
