Williamsburg

Howdy,

We are heading to Williamsburg in April with 2 kids- 8 and 11. Any suggestion for camping in a 32 foot MH? We have stayed at Yogi Bear in the past down there and loved it but not sure we need all the amenities this time around. I would like a State park but the one I found was across the river and we don't have a tow vehicle. Thanks-

Kevin

Being a Thousand Trails member, I stayed at that park twice now and like it.

We stayed at Chippokes Plantation State Park which is right across the river. There's a ferry just up the road.

The park is very nice, newly remodeled/rebuilt. You're out in the boonies, yet a short distance to Williamsburg and Jamestown.

We were in the 'Site Specific B' loop. It was nicer than the other loop.

Edit - Sorry, I missed your 'don't have a toad'.

In August we stayed t the Williamsburg/Bush Gardens KOA. It was very comfortable, well run, and had a friendly staff. Many site certainly big enough for you 32 ft MH. It was about a 20 minute drive to colonial Williamsburg. I don;t think you'll find anything closer

We stayed American Heritage RV Park last. Convenient to I64 and Colonial Williamsburg. Big rig friendly.

They had some tight spots and roads in a few spots but I do like them as well.

I have been to Chickahominy Riverfront Park. It's a county facility. Very well run right on the river. Near Jamestown and 5 miles to downtown Williamsburg.

We enjoyed American Heritage also. Good activities for kids once your day is done. Nice pool and great staff.

We stayed at Newport News City Park Campground, very nice, except for the bathhouses. The sites are large and very private. Wooded sites.
