Wish us Luck!

Man is it cold in NC right now and of course this is when we picked to take our trailer out for a shake down weekend in a local state park. We've been running the heater and an electric heater getting it ready to go and it is toasty right now. We've also had the tank heaters running to keep from freezing the little house on wheels for a few weeks now. Hopefully the big freeze will slack off so we can hit the road Saturday.

We have never been afraid of a little cold weather. In fact, sometime, that make for the best camping . . . but wow.

So to all you cold weather friends out there . . . Wish us luck.

I would just be careful that there is NO ice or snow in your forecast... I was down South one winter when you guys had freezing rain & snow & there weren't enough plows available to keep the roads safe.

We're going to Rolling View Sate Park near Falls Lake. They say it's supposed to be warmer this weekend. We're certainly hoping so. Its a nice park, close to home and should be a safe ride.

This is the big test for my leveling system. Just need a bit more warm and a little less ice.

The weekend is looking cold but decent. We figure we're close enough to home that we will leave the trailer an extra day or so it things turn bad. Better safe than sorry.

Weatherman did you a small favor. The prediction for tonight had been -1, but now it will be way up to 4!

The weatherman is not doing us much of a favor the next day or two. In fact, the brief thaw my driveway had is now solid ice and not expected to see concrete till late Saturday. I guess we are going to swallow our pride and see if we can reschedule our trip for 2 weeks. March is a prettier month anyway. We really want to get out but not at the expense of our home on wheels.

Maybe next time.

I think staying home is the right decision. Camping in this weather is not fun and if something goes wrong with the new unit could lead to big trouble. We have a new Wildcat coming soon. Perhaps we can do our shake down trips together.
