YEA! We have reservations for March 2014 at our favorite RV park, Island Retreat in Gulf Shores, AL. I was absolutely shocked that we could get the month of March because normally the snowbirds have all the sites from January thru March.
Bonus: We had a $187.00 credit that we didn’t even know about. The last time we were at Island Retreat was in April of 2011 and I think, not sure, that we left a week early thus the credit.
We haven’t been able to get reservations for the month of March since 2008. That year we marched in the St. Patrick’s Day parade and pub crawl in Gulf Shores and had a ball. The parade stopped at every pub along the route and we all had a beer before continuing on. We were summoned back to continue the parade when the bagpipers would begin playing again and off we would go to the next pub. The parade began at 8:30 AM and ended just before noon at the two eateries, Gulf Island Grill and Hooters. Those who could still sit in a chair without falling off ate lunch.
