I'm sure there are lots of them. Lots of threads on this very thing. What are you after?

And 98% of them are either maxed out or over weight with a 5th wheeler.

Not really true. I did it for years. Just depends on the truck/trailer.

I did as well. It CAN be done.

But without some specifics from the OP, this thread will go south in about 4 more posts.

You need a fifth wheel that is light in weight plus has a hitch weight that is under #1000.

However, the bigger the TV the better.

One deale near Cincinatti would not sell you a fifth wheel with a half ton truck. Unless, you sign a waver of liability.

I don't see how you could bu under when you're loaded up unless you have the HDPP. Dry pin 1580 in the brochure. Add 150 for 5th hitch, some gear @150 lbs in the front basement and a couple passengers @300 lbs.
Thats 2030 lbs.

All depends on the setup. The Fiver we’re looking at is only 1140 dry pin weight and a 7000 dry trailer weight. That’s a full 1000 pounds lighter than my brother’s bumper pull (and 1000 lbs heavier than our bumper pull). Some of the new 1/2 tons have max theoretical payload ratings in the 2000-3000 range. If I didn’t have to bring the wife, kids and dogs along I could easily tow it with the right 1/2 ton.

But then, it wouldn’t make much sense to be towing a BH if I didn’t need to for the kids, so that’s why we’ve got a 3/4 ton on order instead.

The yellow sticker on the truck’s door post will take you from “theoretical” to “real world”.

Hopefully it's one of those scamp mini 5ers!haha

It can be done and safely if everything is looked at and matched up for sizing and weights. I think it is a small number that will fit the half ton towable bill in reality but they are out there.

Mine's not yellow. But it's there. Every truck has to have one. Unless you bought yours used.........and the guy removed it cause he wanted to haul the space shuttle! LOL

On my last truck, I had to get on my hands and knees, with head almost upside down, to see it. It's somewhere on the door jamb of the driver's door.

May be on the bottom rail as well. Not all are yellow but look for the tire pressures.

My neighbor has a newer ultralight 5th wheel and a 3.5 ecoboost, Ride Rite air bags and max tow. He’s got a CDL and swears he’s legal and his truck tows better than his old super duty.
