Question 1000 vs 1500

I am looking to upgrade from my friction bar weight dist hitch and am looking at the Blue Ox model Blue Ox BXW1000 or BXW1500 Swaypro Hitch. I think the tongue weight is listed around 800# for my 26 tbud so I am unsure if I should get the BXW1000 and be good enough or get the BXW1500 and overkill. I guess my main question is what would really be the difference (price wise the 1500 is only slightly higher)? Thanks.

I would stay with the BXW1000 it's closer to your weight ,sometimes if you go to high you'll have towing issues. Stay with the BXW1000!

If you are saying that your TW max rating is 800 lbs (that is, you'll never exceed 800 lbs TW), then definitely stick to the 1000 lb unit. I would only go with the 1500 lbs system if you think you'll be going to a larger camper in the near future, and th eBlue Ox company says it's OK with less than 800 lbs TW.

Well my new BXW1000 arrived at the back door today! I really want to venture outside to get it all set up but it's 90+ degrees so I think i might just spend some time on the couch and tackle it after it cools off a bit. I can't wait to see how this works compared to the friction sway wdh i'm currently using. I think it may soon become an anchor.
