I apologize for starting this harder to fill a gas truck up on the road thing.

I am an enginer and was always paid to think of everything for a customer.

This is a minor issue. But one of twenty to consider.

I have observed hundreds of stations that I would be afraid to fill up in as a new fiver owner in my first year. I look every where I go.

We only use truck stops for fuel for long days towing. Over 250 miles. I prefer to park and go without the trailer for fuel.

Then too there is easy parking at truck stops for lunch. We have had some great meals.

My experience tells me that the only times I have trouble getting gas with the 5'ver in tow is when I try to find gas away from the highway, off of the beaten path, or in town on busy streets.

Stick to the stations along the interchanges or along most two lane highways and most stations can handle an RV.

It is when you start driving around looking for the cheapest gas prices when you'll run into trouble most of the time.

90% of new stations here in Fl (last 15 years) are huge that does not even count the truck stops ... I have always started looking at 1/4 tank with the 5ver maybe a little sooner ...

Out here in the west you need to start looking when you reach a 1/2 tank at the very least...

Especially if you have a 26-gallon or less gas tank.

I learned this lesson the hard way...from the school of hard knocks!

Here is me five years ago waiting for 2 1/2 hours for gas from Good Sam's roadside assistance out in the middle of Nowheresville, Nebraska...

I had 3/4 of a tank when I passed the last gas station thinking that all of those tiny little towns would have gas stations...

NOT!

85 miles into a strong wind out of the west is all I got with a 3/4 of a 26-gallon gas tank when I ran out.

I was lucky I even had any cell service...
