Congrats on the TV. You will enjoy the oil burner, welcome to the dark side , lol.
The BW package is solid. I don't know what size set up you're getting. I got the 18K, it's more than I need but if I upgrade to a bigger 5r and TV I should be fine without having to purchase another one. I'm already getting the DW prepared for a dually purchase in the near future.

The sadness you feel now over the loss of your hemi will be replaced by a big grin the first hill you pull, or the noticeable fuel mileage increase you get when towing. Empty mileage is no better/worse than the gasser you replaced.

You are going to be more than happy with your purchase.

Looking at a 2013 2500 Laramie to replace my 1500 Hemi. Dealer is telling me 17K plus pulling capacity with a 3.4 rear end. I had to scratch my head in wonder. Any ideas as to whether the 2013 2500 can pull that? My 5.7 Hemi with a 3.92 can do 8550.

I'm sure you will have no trouble pulling that. Question is, do you want to pull that much with a 3/4 ton,?

I'm pulling a TT and don't plan on hauling cows or hogs. But...should we ever want to upgrade to a 5er, I don't want to buy another truck.

My TT is 6331 dry and I'm on the top end of my 1/2 ton. Would like to have a good margin for safety. Although my Hemi has no issues with what I'm pulling, according to the DW, I just want a new truck. Lol

You are right to scratch your head. You didn't say what configuration the laramie is but a quick look at the 2013 towing guide shows the highest rated ram 2500 with the 3:42 rear end is 12,400 pounds. That's a regular cab LB 2WD with the 6.7

The highest rated 2500 I saw was 15,500 with the 4:10's. Still a regular cab LB 2WD

2013 Dodge 2500 Laramie 4x4 with a 6.7 turbo and. 3.42 rear end. 265/70/R17 firestone tires (not fancy to them). I checked of the service guy I deal with and he pulled the VIN and came up with the same 17,600. Interesting?

I've pulled almost 18000 lbs (yes, I know I was overloaded) with my stock 2012 3500. Power is not an issue, just the weight and being able to stop it safely is.

Yes I would say stopping is important. The extra weight does not leave a whole lot of "OH SŁ€'T" time. It's easy to say ah...I'm a safe driver!!! Till that knuckle head who thought he was a good driver spills his coffee and forgets to stop at the red light. Then it's a whole lot of screaming till you hear glass breaking.
