2006 Ford F150 Transmission Question

Hello, I have an 06 F150 with 84k miles that I've had no trouble with, I've owned it for 3 years now but I recently purchased an 06 Shamrock 21' hybrid. I've been told by a couple that for good measure I should go get the transmission looked over and flushed. I've also been told that this should have been done at 50-65k miles and at this point I'm better off just leaving it alone and that a flush and new filter could actually CAUSE issues. For the record the first time I towed with it last week from Vermont to upstate NY it was flawless, no issues whatsoever.

So I'm getting conflicting views and I can honestly see both sides and understand both arguments so I'm looking for input on the forum.

I've been a transmission tech for 25yrs, owned my own shop for 14 till i sold it last yr.

i would not flush the trans but i would drop the pan and do a filter and fluid service.

If you have the 4R70W transmission, the torque converter has a drain plug in it. Drain the torque convertor along with filter and fluid in pan and your changing almost all of the fluid
the transmission holds. Just doing the pan and filter is only changing 4-5 quarts.

Bingo! No flushing unless you've been doing it regularly.
