Well, good luck, and it may be possible, but you're missing a few numbers. Yo need tongue weight, especially loaded, which you may have to guess at. That will be added to the empty wight of your tow vehicle. Now you need to add people and gear on the tow vehicle, since you mentioned family, and see if you are over on the gross vehicle weight of your tow vehicle. If you are, then you have to leave somebody at home. Now add 1000 to empty trailer weight, for gear and stuff, and add that to tow vehicle weight, and see if you are within gcvw rating. If you're going to dry camp, don't forget to add water in the fresh tank, and if it's in front of the axle, will be mostly tongue weight. Don't sweat a hundred pounds or so, but 500 would make me think again. And you won't like any mountains. Don't worry about gas mileage, 10 will be great, 8 or 9 respectable. Good luck.
