If I had the need for a 3/4 ton that would be my first choice. In my opinion the cummins is top notch with the diesels. And at 48000 miles not even broke in yet. If the price is right I think your golden.

I can't speak for the 2011 but I own a 2008. Very strong puller and good mileage both empty and pulling my trailer. I will tell you though mine was terrible on mileage when I first bought it. I deleted the DPF, EGR and added a tuner.

Given your towing a 25RR. Your TT's tongue weight, at 15% of the maximum weight of the trailer, you have the potential for almost 1,200 pounds of tongue weight.

Given you, your family, your stuff and whatnot - does this truck have enough payload capacity?

I'll offer my 2 cents...I'd look for a 3500 SRW as it'll have about 1000 lb more payload capacity for you're next upgrade to a 5W.

I pulled a trailer that was very similar to your 25rr except slightly heavier with my Dodge 2500 and had zero problems. I do run the Ride Rite airbags on my truck.

My 2012 2500 does very well. Love the everything it has and is capable of what I tow. Great truck. 3500 might be the best thing to look for if ever thinking about an upgrade in TT.

You'll love the truck and it'll be plenty for what you plan. But I would think you could get one for almost that price new. I know my local dealer advertises 2013 2500 crews with diesel(just SLT, not Laramie) for $32,999 for 2x4. I think $35,999 for 4x4. I'm sure others feel differently, but I'd take new with no miles any day over a few unnecessary options.

I think you should go to a Dodge dealer and ask to see the invoice on a truck you like. Tell them you will pay invoice price, and then deduct all of the offers Dodge currently has. If you do this, I think you can get a new 2500 SLT for about the same price you were talking. They DO still make money when selling you a truck for invoice. A truck with 45K MSRP will still make them around $1200. No dealing, no haggling- tell them that's what it takes to sell you a truck. You shouldn't have to look long before you are signing the deal on a new truck. Keep in mind you won't get the financing offer currently being offered, but the finance guy should be able to get you low 2's anyway if your credit is good.
