Good TV!
Got a rather good deal on a brand new 2011 Lariat myself just a few months ago. Have towed a bit but not as much as I'd like...still have to have that weekly grind...LOL. I am very pleased with performance of vehicle and would offer the following re the hitch. Remember, you ALWAYS get what you pay for (at best) so don't go cheapie on what may be the most important part of keeping it all together for you (pun intended). I went through a hitch fiasco with my [very well known/respected] dealer. Finally settled on a Reese R20 (yes, they've already sent me the improved bushings) and am very happy I did. Was going to upgrade to the R16 but for a few more bucks got a lot more headroom. Pin is about 3000# and payload is just at 4000#. If you go R20 (or R16) make sure you get the vehicle specific mounting brackets and the "heavy duty" rails for the 350!!! My dealer was not aware (?) of these kits and did a real botch job the first time the R20 was installed...very substandard. You can actually find a 5 minute video on the web of installing an R20 to a 2011 F350/250...google it...very interesting. As for needing a slider...that depends on your 5er. I have a slider (short bed) but don't know if I'll ever need it now since the CORRECT mounts place the pin a few inches rearward...but just forward of the axle. The whole thing may cost a few bucks more but I am now 100% pleased with tow performance. There...whew...thanks for reading and good camping (towing too)!
