Well here's the update. I don't know much more than I did. ECM is all up to date. Particulate filter seems fine. The differencial sensor shows no back pressure abnormalities. The scan did show 33. something grams of soot.I have never seen on the display any thing that said regen in progress.Never in the year that I've owned this truck.Tomorrow evening he is going to do a forced regen. The light went off this evening on my way over to his work.

You might look into getting an Edge Insight ODBII monitor. It will tell you when you're in regen mode along with lots of other useful information while towing. Admittedly, they aren't cheap, but it's a nice addition.

If it keeps doing this,it's going to get deleted. It and the egr. Cheaper than replacing the DPF filter.

I love my Edge CTS Insight! I also agree, delete it if you can if there are problems!

Just doing the EGR is worth it. I am not an advocate in emission tampering, but the EGR is the worst. It produces more soot, uses more fuel, reduces the life of the engine...all for a gas that will break down.

As far as regens, 70 MPH?? Really? I know it isn't comparing the same, but I completed a regen leaving Pigeon Forge TN, including stopping at all the traffic lights. I have an Edge CTS2 monitor.
