Your weights look good (I assume you reversed the front and rear curb weights). What engine, trans and rear axle ratio do you have? I'd just be sure you use "tow-haul" to keep trans temps down. Obviously, you'll need a weight distributing hitch - I've had good luck with an Equil-I-Zer 4-way hitch.

I have had a few say the tow capacity is too small on this halfton. It has the biggest tow capacity of a 1500 and the numbers seem good to me. The TT is Half ton towable and the dealer is selling me a 1000 equalizer hitch so I figured I would be fine.

With that tongue dry weight you may want to jump up to the 1200 WD as that is alot of tongue weight to tame on a 1/2 ton rear end. Definately look at some LT tire on your tv.

The 6.2 engine is an all aluminum engine designed to go fast rather than hauling a load, which is why its not offered in the 2500 or 3500 trucks; Just be careful that it doesnt run hot.

I just went through the same thing with the dealer swearing an f-150 with max tow and payload would be fine for my Aviator. The payload and tow capacity were within the ratings, but the limiting factor was the receiver hitch. It was rated at a max of 1130lbs with a WDH. My Aviator listed tongue weight is 940lbs but this is the dry weight without propane or batteries. I took it to a scale and it actually weighs 1340lbs without any water in the tanks. The only way for you to know for sure is load your trailer and take it to a truckstop scale. It only costs about $10. I took mine on a Sunday when they weren't busy because you have to disconnect from the truck to get the actual tongue weight.

Tongue weight could be a problem, may need to upgrade your receiver. You will be over a 1000 before you pull it off the lot after adding a battery and propane. A 1000 lb hitch is not going to cut it. Be careful with the term equalizer hitch. If it is the Equal-i-zer brand 4 point hitch then great, if not get one or a different integrated sway control hitch rated at 1200 lbs hitch weight.

My question to the !/2 ton guys is , you are trying to manage your weight for which I commend you , but what about the length ? I have heard of people pulling 32' plus ft trailers and wonder about " the tail wagging the dog". With the truck mfgs trying to make vehicles lighter for fuel mileage and all , what happens if/when the trailer starts whipping /swaying.....Is there enough truck or hitch systems to handle the situation

Why do it with a 1/2 ton and hate your traveling experience because it is no fun pulling that TT that someone say's it can tow it. Downsize the TT and have some fun.

Tongue Weight - 965 you might be at well over 1100 lbs to start without cargo. Maybe give some thought to the 14k 4 point Equalizer.
