2013 Dodge 3500 Dually

WOW!

Just read about this beast having a tow rating of 30,010 lbs @ 850 ft/lb torque and a few neat engine mechanical features...starting production by February...ought to be interesting to see this one in action

It definitely sounds impressive. I've only read one article, but it's pretty amazing the numbers that they're boasting!

I'll admit, I'm a little jelly..

I saw some pics a while ago..They have a new notched tailgate (i.e 5er ready) with the integrated backup camera. Obviously the cam doesnt help with hitching a 5er...but with my CC and long bed I love the cam in parking lots. I am hoping that tailgate can be retrofittted to my 2012.

Showed my wife the pictures of the truck. She likes it. Might be possible down the road. She wants this to be the end all be all truck purchase. Not we could do this with this truck. Sounds good to me.

I like it a lot! I have been looking and I think I will wait till they get a model year in on the new model and get any bugs worked out. Any word on the new Aisin transmission? I just wonder if it could be as good as an Allison. That and the Cummins would be quite the setup!

They have an add on TV for the 1500 hemi ram with 23K or so tow capacity. Dodge is playing numbers games as combined gross vehicle rating is going to be way lower than the weight of the truck and that huge trailer the add says it can tow. As you all now, the Toyota Tundra can tow the friggen space shuttle. And if you go way back somebody's 1/2 tone was towing a 747 on those awesome TV ads.

You guys all know that a 3/4 ton truck is pushing it's limits to tow a 15K pound 5th wheel. How the hell is a 1 ton going to tow 30K pounds at 60mph?

I love Ram trucks too, but I know when I hear misleading add claims. Start reading boys.

I did a little research and found that Aisin is a pretty big time transmission producer. It seems as though they make a tranny for at least one vehicle from every automaker. In fact, I am fairly certain that our Sequoia's tranny is made by Aisin. Also, the chassis cab Rams have been using a variant of this trans for some time now. I guess maybe this transmission won't be much of a risk after all, I'm pretty pumped about it!
