I calculate my milage manually. I find it differs a lot from my truck display.

I never did get any published mileage on my Ecoboost. Any traffic what soever will effect the mileage towing or dry. In the end its the cost of doing business, in this case RV lifestyle.

I've said this previously. You have to learn to drive the ecoboost because if you plant your foot down too hard, the turbo's spool up and there goes your gas mileage. It's hard not to floor it because it does bring a grin to your face when a nearly 6,000 pound truck with a 6 cylinder blows the doors off a Ram Hemi.

Man I try to be gentle but sometimes the power of the EB just gets the best of me, but never when towing.

Is anyone using the tow haul mode? Just came back from a trip to Myrtlebeach driving all highway and didn't use it. Trans temp only got up to 204 degrees. I have used it sparingly on some back roads and coming down a steep hill to help slow the truck down.

BTW I got 9 mpg from PA to Myrtlebeach and 9.5 on the way home pulling my 4,500 lb camper. I averaged between 62-68 mph on 95 and only hit 70 if I was passing.

Driving first big trip (800 miles each way) with 2014 Super Cab FX4 with Max Tow and 3.73, and towing about 9000 LBS loaded. Results are in Litres per 100km/US MPG/CDN PG

City w/o TT - 18/13/15.7
Hwy w/TT and crosswinds on flat prairie (100 kph/62 mph) - 37/5.4/7.6
Hwy w/TT and tailwinds and hills/Rocky Mountains near Banff,AB -(100 kph/62 mph) - 27/8.7/10.5

Shows how much effect cross winds and headwinds have!

And FYI, CDN gas is about $4.16/US Gallon CDN ($3.33 USD)

I never did before, but now that I do I am getting 10.5 to 12 and trains temp never jumps over 195 in T/H mode without teams get to 207 I used to get 9.5-10.5 roughly, flat ground like GSP I get better MPG then hills in PA

Yes, I use Tow/Haul all the time. I have seen 213 as a trans temp going up 11K passes at 80 degree ambient temp, but that is well within spec. Here is my dashboard trip meter from Colorado Springs to Hot Springs State Park to Yellowstone NP thru Big Horn Scenic Byway (torture test for sure while towing) to Keyhole State Park (by Devil's Tower) to Custer SP and return to Colorado Springs. Not a flat trip by any means and I got 10.5MPG.

I use pause to only capture the towing mileage keeping the normal driving separate on another trip meter.

Here is my average on the other trip meter when not towing on the same trip.
