Know this is a bit dated, but how's the truck pullin'?
We just picked up a 2015 WA2715 that's being pulled behind an '08 2500HD with the 6.0 gas guzzler. I cannot imaging pulling it with an F150... The 2500 is solid with regards to sway and such (doesn't feel like the trailer affects the truck's handling much, even in windy conditions) but she does squat hard (suspension wise), tachs quite high and runs pretty hard a lot of the time. I definitely feel like she's going blow up eventually. Constantly trying to get her to up shift so I can hang around the 2500RPM mark but that only works on the straight and level or down hill (with no engine braking)...
Given how the 2500HD performs, I'm ok with the platform in general, just need some helper bags to help with the squat in the back and the diesel (or maybe a tow cam and some 4.10 gears). The full setup is: 2008 Chevrolet 2500HD, 6.0L gas, 6 speed auto, 3.73 gearing, 4x4, extended cab, long bed. Rated capacity is ~9900 and I'm probably getting to within 900Lbs of that with the WA2715 loaded with the RZR and equipment. With the 6.6 diesel and 4.10 gearing she'll do 13,000 which leads me to believe adding more torque and HP to the 6.0 may suffice. Of course, modding is usually a slippery slope. Add a cam and change gearing and soon it'll be the tranny that gives...
Currently shopping around for a diesel, probably an F250 Super Duty.
