I had a 2008 Tundra and really liked it. I thought it had a great power train. Pulled our then 4500lb camper with ease. The biggest issue I had with the truck was the size of the gas tank. Listed at 26 gallons, but I could never seem to get much more than 24 gallons in or out of it. Really cut down our range when towing. I sold the truck last year and bought a '12 F150 with the EBoost. I was really hoping Toyota was going to increase tank capacity on the Tundra, but I've not seen any information that says they did.

Biggest complaint I hear about Tundra is fuel tank size and consumption. Have a buddy that just could not leave the brand, traded his Tundra for a Tacoma.

We were stopped at a truck stop in Gorman, CA (coming home from Disneyland) and a Toyota factory rep stopped by to ask us about our set up.
(This is where my signature pic was taken)
This guy was doing some R&D for Toyota and was on his way up north.
I asked him about Toyota's plans for a 3/4 ton deisel and he said that Toyota had plans for one but had shelved it due to the poor economy.
He mentioned that they were looking at using an Isuzu platform since that motor has performed very well for them.

He didn't see them producing a 3/4 ton in the forseeable future.
It seems to me that it would be a very had market to compete in.

I still think that Ford has the best looking 3/4 ton but that's just my opinion.
I was a Tonka Truck kid.

Um, Isuzu makes the duramax...seems strange Toyota would start selling trucks with same engine as Chevrolet.

Here is some more info I found.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isuzu_Motors

It's a long read but looks like Toyota owns about 6% of Isuzu and in 2006-2007they were moving towards a joint venture.
