Did I read that right....12K Towing with over 3K payload (granted that will be for a reg cab, 2wd) but holy cow!!! For a guy like me who just needs a few extra Lbs of payload to be happy, this is a game changer. It likely could keep me out of a 3/4 territory and in with an empty MPG advantage. It would take a lot for me to give up on dodge, but those payload numbers are almost if not higher than a new 2500 cummins!

Man this could be big. I bet the price is going to reflect it.

I may have to re-think my plans, I need to upgrade my gas 250 ( getting a little tired ) looking at f250 diesel, but these numbers are truly impressive. I am in no hurry, I will wait till someone on the forum gets one, to get some real numbers. The Ecoboost is something to consider.

Very impressive on the 2.7L diesel as well as the V8 towing and payload specs.

Talked to a fellow with an F150 EB 2013 or maybe 2014, pulling a 34' Airstream (2004-6 wheeler!) last weekend and he said the EB had nearly the torque of his previous 2500 diesel.

So we have Dodge and Ford in the small diesel game. GM next?

Ford's 2.7L is not a diesel it's gas.

Not necessarily wishful thinking! The Ecoboosts have just about equivalent torque characteristics to similarly sized diesels; without the maintenance, purchase cost, and higher fuel price (per gallon).

You can figure subtracting 10% from diesel fuel mileage to adjust for the cost of fuel. So, the Dodge Ecodiesel's 28 is about the same as 25 mpg in gas.

As a pro dodge owner...I just wish they offered payload numbers that were close to the fords in 1/2 tons.

We're considering trading-in our 2011 Ram 2500 ST CC 2wd for something a little nicer with 4wd. The original plan was to get an end-of-year 2014 Ram 2500 SLT w/6.4 Hemi for less than $40K... However, my TV is my daily driver & the 2015 F150 Ecoboost would save me about $750 per year on gas...

Does anyone think it will be possible to buy a 2015 Ecoboost w/HD package & Max Tow in a trim level that keeps it under $40K? My concern is that initial demand will be high & therefor Ford will only sell the 2015 Ecoboosts with the pricier trim options...

Don't count on the 2015 EB 150 being to cheap at first. I test drove one last weekend. National display trip to Ford Dealers. It was a loaded Lariat. 54k suggested list. Ford factory rep stated this would be close to actual price asked but has not been finalized by Ford yet. I drove the 2.7 and 3.5 EB. I'm impressed.

Not sure about the 15s and if you're including trade but when I bought my 12, I think it helped that I researched all the smaller local dealers first and then showed up at the big Ford dealer that we have here with a clean trade, title in hand and the VIN number of the Ford I picked out from a different dealer.

I gave them the number they'd have to beat (and by how much) and it was that easy. My trade was worth 7, they gave me 17 but that also included a 1 month loan through Ford Credit (which I promptly transferred to my CU). As it turned out, all the trucks that this dealer has parked on the hill, they didn't have one with the max tow package so they found one 3 states away, sent a guy out and trailered it back at no charge to me. So I think that number is doable.

If it matters any...still very happy with it. I had some bearings replaced under warranty up front and all four of the original tires have been replaced at my expense due to broken cords (at four different intervals). Discount Tire thinks I got in on a bad batch. I also live a mile down a gravel road.

Not sure what a LTZ LWB options are. Are they like a King Ranch of Ford Platinum packages?

LWB - long wheel base. LTZ - trimmed out , leather , nav , heated/cooled seats etc. The options vary.

I own 2013 EB Lariat super can. Load package, tow package. 3:55 gears. Walked off the lot around 38k. Love the truck. The 2015 I test drove has 20 hp more with equal torque gains. Being lighter gives a much quicker acceleration feel. It's quite too
