2015 Ford F250 6.7 Gen 2 Motor Shutter

I have a 2015 F250 with the 2nd Generation 6.7. I experienced at about 7500 miles a shutter when I went to accelerate. It happened 4 or 5 times and I finally decided to take to the dealership. I had thought I had water in the fuel line....

I was in 4th gear keeping pace barely working the gas. When it came time to get on the gas pedal, the truck shuttered and the more I pushed down on the pedal the worse the shutter got. I let off the gas and the let it coast for a second. Then depressed the pedal again and off I went. Ford is telling me that there is a programming issue with the exhaust cleaning. Supposedly if you sit in too much traffic or leave your truck idling too long with the new engines this will happen. The dealership thought I was crazy at first until a guy with a F350 came in the next day with the same issue. Now they are saying Ford is issuing a bulletin for it but not until Spring of 2016. Anyone else experienced this? It felt like the engine was about to jump out of the truck? They might be right about traffic and not running the engine hard enough. I went to visit job sites and drove 2500 miles mostly interstate driving over the next 2 weeks and it hasn't done it again. I never had this happen with my 2012 just the 2015. Thoughts?

I only have a bit over 3k on mine, but no issues like that. I do a lot of city driving too and haven't had a single hiccup.

I didn't either until 7500 miles. The guy with the F350 was at 8000 miles. Hopefully you won't go they this. It was a little unnerving.

I have a F350 and about 6K on it and it is running just as it should so far. I do some short drives with longer ones mixed in.

I have a 2015 F 250 8500 km. Had a 3 week trip and good haul for 4500 km. My drive to/from work is about 20 miles round trip daily. Truck get a work out of 55 mph country roads 5 days a week. No issues yet! My truck was built September 14 delivered to the dealer unloved till I test drove it in June of this year.

I sit in Atlanta traffic mostly everyday. My commute is about 50 miles. The last 20 miles going and the first 20 miles coming is typically a parking lot. I also tend to drive in the slow lane during rush hour traffic. I drive so far, i finally decided I'm going to ride in the slow lane and relax instead of jumping around. Since I started driving the truck a little more heavy footed, it hasn't shuttered again.

I've heard similar reports for the Silverado Isuzu diesel. That was related to the exhaust cleaning.

40k on my 2014 Duramax but I also deleted all that crap off so I will never have those emissions relate issues as far as the soot catcher, ect. 99% of the engine warranty issues for a new diesel are related to the insane emissions crap. I had those issues on my 2009 and finally said screw it. My buddy with a 2015 F250 went into Limp mode and sat on the side of the highway due to a sensor on his exhaust related to the regen junk for the soot..... All crap

Where I live you can not delete, against the law. Once annual inspections come into play you would not pass and they would pull your tag.
I have not had any regen issues at all, just does it.

Update..

My dealer called earlier this week. I'm not crazy after all. Apparently there are a significant amount of trucks doing this. Ford has informed the dealership, there is a programming issue. They are expected to come out with a program fix at the beginning of the year.

Hopefully not the same programming issues as VW.

I also have a 15 F250 with the 6.7L. No issues and we have pulled a 5th wheel most of the summer and it now has almost 12000 miles on it. The exhaust cleaning light comes on the dash when I am driving in city traffic to much, but no issues.

I think I sit in too much traffic. The dealer said most of the complaints were from major traffic cities. They said it has something to do with the engine closing half of the valves during regen or something to that effect. If you ever feel it shutter, just let off the gas for a couple seconds and it will go away.

I'm at 29,000 miles now and it's only done it twice since I posted this, so it's gotten better, but still waiting on the update for programming.
