It is usually better to trade trucks than to try to alleviate the symptoms of an overloaded truck with airbags, etc. The fact that it is a super crew with the long bed is immaterial. The heavy duty payload package is only available in the super crew 6 1/2 foot bed. Payload figures do not include the weight of a driver but it does include a full fuel tank.
That F150 has the payload of an F250 Diesel, but not the HP or torque. The F250 gasser would have at least 500# more payload. A person would need a special reason for that truck as a 250 would be better in nearly every application.

Max tow this, heavy payload that... HA!

My 2015 Ram 3500 cummins has averaged 18 mpg over the last 15,000 km.
Price wasn't that much more than a loaded F150.
3747 payload.
The cummins will also outlast that Eco thingy.

Check the window build sheet, usually under optional it lists the GVWR package. The GVWR #7550(?) minus the Scale weight/full tank of fuel is the Payload, most of the time pretty close to the payload sticker. You can get HT (tow) without HP (payload) since 30 TT tongue usually around #700. F150 SC Payload usually around #1700 - 1800. The HT/HP just gets into 1/2 ton into the ultra light 5th wheel because of the pin weight, #1400 - 1750, watch out, the F250 SC diesel without HP is about #2250, gas is #3000. My 2011 F150 SC EB long bed with #8200 package HP is #2393, HT #11200, #600 for occupants and stuff, just bought second 5er.

Pay load of 2393 and 600 lbs of stuff in the truck would limit your size of your 5er after its load ready to camp to:

You're adding approximately 600 lbs. to the truck. You have 1,793 lbs. of payload capacity. Fifth wheels typically have 20% - 25% pin weight which gives you a maximum loaded camper weight of 7,172 - 8,965 lbs.

Many 5er hitches weigh 200# or more for a slider in a short bed. That can bite when occupants and stuff is added

Thank you, used the Calculator, end up with #38 of payload. As I mentioned Ultra lite 5th wheel require a maxed HD payload and HT packages on 1/2 ton pickups and your still on the hairy edge. With your TV, you can pull just about anything you can afford.

Wrong...check the Ford Specs. For 2016 the 6.2 Gas V-8 has 385 HP an 405 pounds of torque. For 2016 the 3.5 EcoBoost has 365 HP and 405 pounds of torque. A loaded-up King Ranch F250 will likely have lower payload than an Heavy Duty Payload F150.

A special reason? Yes. If you drive 25,000 miles per year and 3,000 of those are towing, the F150 will get about 18 mpg as a daily driver. The F250 gas will get about 13 mpg. Let's assume that the truck is bought new and kept until 250,000 miles on the truck. While towing, the mileage will be about the same between the two trucks. But, as a daily driver, the F150 will use during the lifetime of the truck (220,000/18) 12,222 gallons of non-towing use gasoline. The F250 will use (220,000/13) 16,923 gallons of non-towing gas. At $2.50 per gallon, that is a fuel savings of $11,752! And, if gas goes back up to $4.00/gallon, that is a fuel savings of $18,804.00! That is more than special reason enough for me!

The Cummins is a good engine, but heavy. You can get the Cummins now in a Nissan Titan HD, but the payload is lower than an F150 due to the weight of the engine. Service costs are higher and often fuel prices higher on the diesels. And, the Ram Cummins engine will also far outlive the rusting Ram truck bodies.

Can't really compare the ram 3500 to a Titan.
Not the same engine, not the same class.
Service costs? My first oil change was at 15,000 km.
Fuel? Diesel here is 30 cents a litre cheaper.

Your available payload is 1,750 lbs. Payload is driver, all passengers, pets, gear and tongue weight of trailer. Any and all weight placed on the truck is payload.

Payload should be calculated by subtracting the weight of the truck (as it rolled of the assembly line) from GVWR.
