2016 F150 Towing Info

Here is My recent Towing Weights.
I am sorry for the Photo's being on their Side.

1st Weight is all Hooked up Heading out.

2nd Weight is Truck with same Loaded but no Trailer.

Truck felt as if the Front end was Lite, while Pulling. I love the Cat Scales and The Android App, makes it easy.

What are you towing ? Are you using a weight distribution hitch ? The right wd hitch can distribute more weight to the front wheels thus making the steering feel better also eliminate most sway. I did not look at the numbers that close, I just know when the front end feels light, adjusting the hitch will throw more weight to the front of the tow vehicle and the tow vehicle will feel much better. We have some real experienced people on this site that can add more info than I can.

X2 a weight distribution hitch if not being used would help other than that quick math says under payload by about 1100 should be good what is combined weight rating

His profile says Andersen WDH. Looks like you need to crank on it some more to return the front back to OEM.
FYI you don't need to weigh it to set it up. Measurements and weight go hand in hand, thus the reason the Manuals say to measure before during and after hitching.
Ford should have towing information in the manual that states what you need for setting up the truck per measurements.
It used to be that you needed to return the front to 0-50% of the unloaded to loaded (W/O WDH).
E.g, 35" OEM, 37" hitched W/O WDH. With WDH you need 35"-36".

Go back and revisit your WDH setup measurements to ensure the change in distance between tire and fender is correct up front if your brand of hitch uses that for setup. I had to go and redo mine recently to account for wear and shifted weight in my trailer.

Thank you for Your Replies, Good Info. I forgot to do the Measurement of the Front. Ill do it the Next time. Yes it's an Andersen WDH. I have all the Printed Info from Ford, just did not want to post it all. I am going to Revisit the WDH setup like you pointed out. Love this Forum.

2016 F-150 Towing

I have same 2016 towing unit pulling a 2018 Rockwood 20 ft Mini-Lilte. Using

Equal-i-zer WD hitch. It keeps my front end firmly planted on the road.

My only complaint (small one) is that the Rockwood Mini-Lite is high profile and the shape of a cracker box (minimal aerodynamics) and is not very kind to MPG experience.

We love the floorplan (bath and refrig at rear). Small sofa bump out.
