I was kind of stoked about this truck, and think they are really nice looking... but my Ram does as well on fuel economy and will undoubtedly pull that 9600# better. The torque numbers will not lie about that. I'm pulling 7200# now and regularly get 14 mpg at a sustained 65mph. Sorry but this does not look promising.

My 2014 Titan appeared to be great but it was a let down. I'm not getting hopes up on this one either. I would wait and see after a year to see how they doing.

Supposed to have one at the dealer near me tomorrow for show and tell. Said they won't be on the lots for sale until February. Hope to get some pics.

Before jumping off the deep end about the mpg, let's wait until they get a chance to test it a get it worked up and down the highway for a 100 miles or more. They got to pull up a 6% turn around and go back down a whopping 17miles round trip.

This 5.0 cummins won't be a barn burner, but what it does is bridge the gap between the big gas V8 and the absolutely ridiculous current generation turbo diesel.

90% of us don't need 900lbs of torque to pull our moderate sized RV and/or couldn't justify the $8k markup for one. If this proves to be a reliable power plant and is offered at 3.5-5k over base in our favorite truck brand, I thunk there could be takers.

This 5.0 has the power and torque of the later generation 5.9 cummins and 6.0 powerstroke. Perfect for those who tow 9-12k that is a bit much for a 1/2t but not even working a 6.7 cummins.

Looks like a nice package and as was mentioned a bridge between the 1/2 and 3/4 ton. Maybe they ought to call it a 5/8 ton. Interesting to note it has the same 6 speed Aisin transmission found in the Ram 3500 and built on a frame based on their 2500 commercial vans. It has a built-in brake controller but on the downside it does not appear to have an exhaust brake which is hard to give up once you have had one. Looks like they will have some competition in the 1/2 ton diesel market as Toyota appears to be building nearly the same truck.

I'm shocked at the MPG number. I know it was a very short trip but there's no way I'd have announced 9.1MPG. My old battle wagon pulling 12,500 pounds got 11.75MPG going uphill to Bristol, Tn. at 65 the entire way.

I'm in with my local Nissan dealer, so when they hit the lots I might go eyeball one.

No sticker. They are doing a 1hr demo later in the day and then the truck is gone. I'm in for service and they let me check it out before the demo. Sales staff just got out of a meeting about it and still know less than you can find on the Internet. One said the platinum reserve was around 55k. I asked about pro 4x and was told the cheapest you can get into one would likely be around 37k

2016 Nissan Titan XD Cummins - TFL Truck

So, close to a well equipped one tonne diesel.

There is a place for this truck.

I'm sure it will do well.

see specs from Canadian site. looks good don't like the payload would have been nice to see around 2400 and they don't offer a 6.5' box.

You'll never be able to tow more than 7-8000lb 5th wheel. TT's are different so 9000lbs and up would be fine. Just not enough payload for a 5th wheel. If they would've built it to have 2500-3000lbs for payload then it IMO would be a huge hit.
You can get an F150 with the Heavy Duty payload rating that will have 2500-2800lbs in average trim levels with a tow rating of around 12,000lbs with the 3.5 Eco Boost. It will tow that 7-8000lb 5th wheel just as easy and for less $$$ initially.
I'm just not seeing the market for it. Probably more of a TT/boat puller IMO.

Can you? Last I heard it was never available in the 2015, and nothing yet on 2016.
