Not my cup of tea for 58K (and no exhaust brake) that is for sure.....If your looking for a diesel I would go with any of the 3/4 tons or 1 tons from the big three for that price unless your looking for maybe alittle better MPG.....

Ouch, 58k... I paid 50k for my 3/4 ton. 1 tons were like 500 bucks more.

Yea not for 58. You can buy a brand new fully loaded 3/4 ton for around 50 to 52. But it's a cool truck. In the end it's still only a 1500..

A lot of money for only 12,300 pounds towing, my loaded 3,500 ram does all that and I still average 19.5 per gal. Per tank with out towing and don't have to worry about what I load up in my camper, I paid 54,000 in 2015, I have all the add ons - ram more bang for the bucks for me any way

I thought the interest part was they had to pile cider blocks on the back the trailer to get the pin weight within specs then they had drop on passengers to not exceed the GVWR.

yeah, well a 1500 / 150 with a big heavy diesel... It might do well but I have always though this is the truck, same with the ED Ram, for those who want a truck to be cool... But want the MPG of a Prius.. Gets them the cool truck but lets them keep a reasonable MPG that most cannot get on a typical truck.

Perhaps of bigger concern is from where the truck came from. When I last visited a Nissan lot, I left very quickly after reading the new stickers that indicate the percentages by country that manufactured their vehicles components and/or assembled. At a minimum, 55% from Mexico of the models I saw, many models higher than 55%. While this one has a Cummins engine, where did the rest of it come from?

I think a lot of stuff comes from Mexico any more.

All the major auto makers selling in the U.S. use Mexico for both parts and labor. Ram HDs, Chevy crew cabs and Ford's Powerstroke are all made in Mexico.

Some yes, some no. This was a while back, but after seeing the stickers, I did some research and the information is available for all makes and models.I was surprised when looking at some of the Chevy car models, while majority American made, the Toyota model was actually higher.The highest American made percentage I found at the time was Cadillac.

according to this Top 10 "Most American" Trucks for 2015 | Edmunds.com the GM trucks have the least US/Canada content 45%. The Toyota and F150 tie for the most Us/Canada content.

For my money, I am sticking with Ford. I have towed many trailers over the years and have NEVER had an issue with Ford. I had one Dodge and one Chevy and eight Fords. The Dodge fell apart and rusted at about 70,000 miles. The Chevy self destructed from the time I bought it until I traded it at 65,000 miles. Other than the normal maintenance and brake work (pads, rotors, seals etc), only three Fords had any repairs at all. My 2005 F150 had an issue with exhaust manifold bolts, my 2001 E350 had a caliper issue under warranty an my 1994 E150 han rear end trouble at 95,000 miles Bearings and axle seals). My last three 2008, 2011 and 2014 F150's were ironclad. Best for towing were my 2002 F350 V10 crew cab and my 2014 F150 ecoboost maxtow.

I am generally pro Nissan. I have owned 9 in my 50 plus years of driving and generally had the best of service from them all. Right now, have a near new Nissan Armada and it is one of the most comfortable cars I have ever owned. Never a maintenance issue and several of them had more than 70,000 when they left the family.
Owned one Titan in the gas model and it was a dandy truck but when the grandson who lives with us grew to where he no longer fit the back of the truck, we moved on to a Ford crew cab -- 2004 with the 8' bed. Could not turn around in much less than a football field and parking a crew cab with an 8' bed can be challenging.
But, worst of all was the turbo on the 6.0. Lost 3 in under 13,000 miles, all fixed under warranty but got tired of the truck being in the shop and it went away in favor of a GMC Duramax.
Now have a a 2013 Chevy Duramax 2500 HD Silverado with 51,000 plus miles in 30 months. It has a 3.73 rear end, if memory serves and it gets 22 to 24 on the interstate bare and 14 to 16 towing our 27'Outback toy hauler.
My first Chevy as I was a dedicated Ford guy until the 2004 6.0 diesel drove me nuts. Love the Chevy. If it holds up, will buy another somewhere between 75,000 and 100,000. Crew cab, short box. Very comfortable and quiet. Most responsive diesel I have driven and in 1960, I partially put my self through college driving long haul -- flatbedding steel and concrete. Had diesels ever since.
One Dodge Cummins -- great engine inside a crappy truck. Getrag tranny was an issue. Paint all came off in big patches. Holes between the driver's door and the floor frame you could throw a small cat through. Bench seats were next to impossible to move back or forward. But, best mileage of any diesel pickup I ever owned. Clutch went at about 86,000.
The Chevy has an exhaust brake that really actually works. Tow/Haul mode works to alter shift patterns in a pleasing manner. I did not expect to like the truck when I bought it and now I love it. It was about 12,000 less than the Fords at the time and immediately available when an immediate trip from Oregon to Florida was necessary due to the death of my wife's mother. It was a 2013 and the 2014's were already out, and it was special ordered but the orderer refused to take delivery because it arrived months late. I took the truck expecting to trade for a Ford as soon as I got back and now I wouldn't trade it for anything as long as it goes on as it is now. Tows the trailer great, even with the 3.73 axle ratios. Loads of torque mean the axle ratios no problem. So, doubtful I will buy a Nissan with no exhaust brake unless they stop making Chevys or Fords. But, the V-8 Cummins might just be a dandy engine. It might be very responsive like the Duramax.

Yea for that kind of money I will rather keep my 06 lbz with 64k miles . Bought it for 35k in 06 and resale on it is about 32k.. not bad resale for a 10 year old truck.

I'll have to keep my Silverado 2012 3500 SRW HD diesel, I know that a dually will tow more but I want to see a month come without a truck payment. The new ones sure look good and it seems like nothing is made in America anymore, trucks or tires
