In my 30+ years of owning RVs I've never had one that matched the "Book" numbers. Bad mistake,
the only way to get any idea of Tongue Weight is to actually weight the tongue. If your book says 990, I would almost bet, empty the tongue weight is easily 1100#. Now once you load it, depending on how it's loaded, the tongue weight will shift. A rule of thumb for a TT is to have between 10 to 15% of actually TT weight on the tongue. This provides for the safest and best handling. Much is said throughout this forum on the subject. If I wanted to error, I would do so going with the higher weight. Just my opinion.
