2018 4Runner tow setup

We have put down a deposit on a new 18 e-pro 17rk and the plan is to tow with our 2018 4Runner off road premium. Since we just acquired the 4runner new in November, we haven’t had a chance to tow with it yet (it replaced a 17 Tacoma). I know the rear springs are rather soft, so sag will be an issue.

The e-pro weighs roughly 3000# and likely a 450-500# tongue weight. The plan is to get Fastway e2 hitch.

Question for those who tow with a 4runner.....would you recommend also adding airbags or will the WDH be adequate on its own? The airbags are relatively cheap, so if there’s a benefit, I’d rather just add them......but won’t if it’s a waste.

Thanks all!

We put in airbags in our 4th Gen 4Runner, but I think that having a very carefully dialed in WDH does the heavy "lifting" (pun intended). We only use the airbags (above 5lbs) only when we must carry a lot of load in the back of the Runner, not for leveling the trailer.

At very high elevations (above 8000ft), the Runner V6 is rather gutless.
