Exclamation 2306 towing with 2007 v6 4.0 tacoma sr5 prerunner

Help! I am considering purchasing the 2306 and the max trailer weight and tongue weight do not seem to be a problem. I bought my truck without the tow package and am unable to get the class 4 hitch put on. So, I am stuck getting a class 3 which can handle the load, but with a family of 3 and a 115 pound dog (basically the size of a full grown adult), am I okay to tow this thing even with a weight distribution hitch (which only adds an additional 500 pound capacity)?

you'll need more than just a receiver to recreate the factory tow package.
you'll need a tranny cooler, 7-pin connector, wiring for a brake controller, along with the type III/IV receiver.
and you'll definitely need a WDH with sway control.

You should be OK on your weights even with the WD hitch, which as already mentioned, is a must. I towed a similar weight TT with a 2007 Pre Runner. I used an Equal-i-zer hitch and it worked very well for me, once adjusted.
I would also suggest an auxillary transmission cooler, great idea.
