I have an 05 Ram 2500 4x4 CTD short bed 4-door... 4:10 gears and a 13-14000( I would have to look again) towing capacity. I have thought about what I would buy...if I ever did. My truck has a 6 spd. and I love the transmission. I would look for a single wheel Ram 3500 if I ever bought another...just on case I decide to ever get a bigger trailer.

I have less than 140k on the ole' Dodge. I really don't want the DEF fluid and I am not interested in modifying the emissions system.

I'm running a 2013 2500 Chevy HD. Duramax of course. Crew cab for the kiddies. Got her running with H&S tune. Usually run the tow tune. Makes tons of power and keeps the mileage within reason. I have about 15000 on the truck so far. Only use it for towing and hunting. Daily driver is a honda civic.

H&S mini maxx
Flo Pro 4" down pipe back
S&B intake
Thunderstruck front bumper (sanded/filled and color matched)
Raptor liner
2.5% tint over everything

Just be careful during the warranty period. Tuners & other similar mods will void the warranty.

This is why you never take it in with the "upgrades" installed.

The newer duramax's leave a trace tune or last tune installed in the EM. Some dealers do not look for it, but some do if the factory requires to warranty

3/4 ton diesel

It can only become a NON-WARRANTABLE ISSUE if the manufacturer can PROVE the failure was due to the programmer/ mod etc! Just putting them on a truck does NOT void warranty! There are laws that protect consumers from a mfg. denying warranty just because you may have used a programmer/mod etc.

I was confident in the Dmax track record and in the track record of the parts I installed. I am aware of the warranty issue. I made a conscious decision based on all these facts. I think most people would. These trucks are choked up and light mods can well improve reliability and power. I have all my stock parts and a good relationship with my mechanic and the dealers mechanic.
