4X4 and WDH...
My new 4X4 Ram 2500 has me needing to lower the ball by about 6" to pull my TT level. I have a WDH made by Eaz Lift, and it's at the bottom of it's bolt holes. My SV-264 is on torsion axles so it's sitting low to begin with. Any suggestions?

You should be able to buy a longer drop shank from (EZ lift). Most have shanks on the shelf up to 12"Drop. My (OLD) Reese uses (15/16 increments for the Vertical adjustments),the newer heads use (1-1/4 increments). So I had to make a longer drop shank with the (15/16) increments 3/4 Hole size! Our unit has the (Under Mount Ball Receiver) and Torq Flex axels,LOW Rider! Youroo!!

The shank that came with our Equal-I-zer did not have enough drop for our rig. I found this Curt shank at etrailer.com for $70. It's been perfect. Not sure if it's enough drop for you. They have many other shank with more drop (for more $$$).

When I picked up my trailer at the dealer, they drove my truck around with the extra drop installed. The bottom of it was only 4 inches or so from the ground. They told me "that is what it needed." I told them "that isn't what it is going to have." It was waaay to low. Now it is back on the original one that came with the ezy lift wdh in the bottom holes. It ended up being just right. Don't go too low with it. Are your torsion axles adjustable on the ends? If they are splined, you may be able to clock the hubs another spline or two. Just an idea.

Dexter makes a lift kit for the torq flex axles. You can add up to 3 1/8" of height. Might be something to look at also.

I've been thinking about the lift kit, but this pickup sits high enough that the new drop bar isn't quite as low as the original was on the F-150, so I'm OK... I probably won't lift the trailer because it will get traded off in a couple of years...

I got this all together again today and my drop is correct for the trailer. I measured and have 9 1/2 inches clear on level ground. I think that's enough... Thanks, everyone...

Great! It's really important to get that ball height correct; or the rest of it just doesn't work.

Went to trailer storage today and hooked up for the first time. When I set this up in my driveway, I took 2 washers out of the ball-tilt setting because of the 3/4 ton truck upgrade. I must be lucky because it's all sitting perfectly level with the right amount of drop as called for in the destructions for the WDH... I was thinking I'd need longer chains and was a bit worried about the 7-pin cable being long enough. It actually fits this truck better than it fit the F-150.
So... we're going to head out soon for our first diesel-towing experience. Probably going to the coast to meet our daughter and son-in-law and grand children (the tornado twins) in Mid-August... We're ready...
