That's a pretty fair price for that hitch. As for the sliding bar design, to each their own. The slide bar does leave for some slop in the king pin which transfers to the tow vehicle with magnification it seems. I have the locking jaws which if do prefer, but it would be nice if they closed and locked in place without my having to do so manually. On the other hand the jaws will release without ever binding on the pin, so I guess it is a trade off.
