We bought it with the camper from Bob Ledfords Adventure RV. They installed it when we went to pick up trailer.

With the Ford factory installed system Reese is the only choice at that time. About a $2500 choice at that.

You have been had. You can find the hitches for the Fords all over e-bay far cheaper than that.

The new system Ford factory installs will only take a specific Reese. It leaves no rails in bed. I could have had it removed and a different type installed but it would be a warranty issue. I agree I got taken but the specific hitch Ford and Reese went together on is where the spherical incline took place. The dealer actually felt bad about the price but they ordered the one I asked for and charged actual cost plus install. I don't know if they could do eBay but just ordered it from distributor. I could have saved some by ordering it but delivery required forklift on every shipping option I found.

I thought that was probably where you purchased. If you haven't already talked with them, my suggestion would be talk to Brian in the parts department. He is very knowledgable and has been more than willing to help us out on more than one occasion and we didn't even purchase our camper there.

You're welcome and good luck in finding a resolution. I would offer up my DH to drive over to help you but we just bought our 5er in October so we're new at this ourselves! Best of luck to you.

Good basic information, but I would suggest two additional things:

1. Raising the rear stabilizatiors before raising or lowering the front gear.

2. Perform a Pull Test after coupling up to ensure the king pin is fully engaged before proceeding with anything else.
