5th Wheel Hitch Clearance Issue

Have a 2008 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Diesel with Standard Bed and Pull Rite SuperGlide hitch for new Cardinal 5th wheel. Recently installed a Retrax Tonneau Cover that rises above truck bed sides by about 3/4". First time we backed into our storage slot, the Retrax frame was damaged by contact with the 5th Wheel Kingpin Frame.

Question: I need to increase clearance between Retrax Frame mounted to sidewalls of Pickup Bed and bottom of trailer King Pin assembly. Suggestions???

So, it was the bottom of the king pin mount that contacted the rails? If so, raising the hitch head would help. Although you may not be towing level.
