I take mine out but its Curt which comes apart in 2 sections.

Yeah, mine is a Curt also...the 20K version. The top part is not so bad, but that bottom is still heavy as heck! I leave mine in unless I need the bed.

Ours hitch is always in the bed......so far. Covered with a Retrax Pro. Great tonneau cover. Looks awesome!
