5th wheel not towing level

My 5th wheel is nose high and my B&W hitch arms are at their lowest mounting holes.
Has anybody heard of a riser kit for Dexter Torflex axles?

Is your 5er's pin box adjustable? If so, you might be able to raise it. Be certain that what ever adjustments you do, provide you with sufficient coach to bed rail clearance. On our's the recommended is 6" - 7" and I have it configured for 6.5".

Cheers,

There are (4) 5/8" bolts on the Sidewinder pin box. Remove the 4 bolts and you can lower the pin box about 1-1/2", but you are right, you cannot raise it.

The side wings are already bolted to the lower holes in the upper turrent, no further lowering is possible. Besides, I have right at 6 inches of bedrail clearence with the current setup. I have about 2 1/2 " difference between the front/rear measured to the ground.

Dexter does make a lift kit for their Torflex axles. Check their website.

Riser kit ordered from Dexter, local dealer had loaded 32% on the price, but told me if I bought them myself they would install them. Hope to get them installed this week.

Riser kit installed today; only 1/2 inch difference now, still nose high but good enough.
The dealer installed it as a Flagstaff riser recall, but I reminded him it was my desire to do the lift. I was not aware of a recall, but he had a list and even though my name was not on his list he did not charge me till I explained the situation. The dealer has always treated me good and I did not want to take advantage of him.

You're a good man.
Reminds me of something my Dad would do.

Hmmmm, DH has been talking about our 5er towing a tiny tad nose high. He's gone out back to see if we have the same axles.

We're about to take Buffy in for some warranty stuff. Found a stress crack in the glass in that tiny window up near the ceiling above the stairs, a screw stripped out on a cabinet door hinge over the stove, microwave vibration, etc.

I wonder....your dealer had a list, names of buyers who are affected by the recall?

3722505 Dexter Axles but we don't know if they're torflex. How do we find that out?

DH has tried to google the number + dexter

(there are no leaf springs)

Torflex is Dexter's name for their torsion axles.
