5th wheel vs bed rail clearance

What is the preferred distance/spacing between the top of the trucks bed rail and the bottom of the 5th wheel.

You should have a minimum of 6" clearance with the 5ver level.

At or about 6" is suggested.

I try to make sure there is about 6". For my 5er to be level, I'm at just under 6.

I have about 5 3/4" but, 6" min. is recomended by my dealer. The 1/4" lube plate helps a little too.
