He needs to check the sticker inside the door jam. And get it weighed to make sure he's within payload. [emoji12]

Now he doesn't want to do that because then he'd have to admit he has too much truck and we all know that is just impossible.

Thought of this as I drove by a lot full of sidelined trucks. Is there a mileage penalty, 1 ton vs semi?

I can not make it, This year was more time spent doing work than relaxing. We are at this point book ending with Tadpole and Amana in the US and of course Canada Frog 150 Rally in June, just went over 50 rigs!!

Regarding the CDL question, for mine it is no as the truck is registered as a RV but in some states they do not allow that and register as a private truck then go by the weight of the truck so in some states you might need a different class license but at the non commercial level.
Lots of info regarding using this type of truck can be found here

I'm late to the party.... RE: the photo in post 2.
I think I saw that rig at Top Sail Hill SP FL last January. I spoke to the
owner briefly. He said the tractor was a long frame like they use to pull
car hauler trailers. He had added a wooden deck/bed. Seems like he
may have said something about moving the rear axles back too but my
memory is fuzzy on that. I do remember the smart car and the 2 tone
motorcycle cover so I think it probably was that guy. He was getting
ready to pull out and when I came back 10 min later with my camera he
was gone so I didn't get a photo. It was pretty impressive up close fer sure!
