Smile A128S Hard side trailer - tow vehicle

HI, I have been looking at the above hardside trailer, this version or similar.
with regards to towing it, am considering investing in the Ford Taurus X which is AWD and has a V6 3.5 litre engine.

To me (as an aussie) it should be more than adequate is these trailers weigh 960kg (approx) unladen

grateful for feedback
cheers
Antone

Is that the EcoBoost 3.5? I don't know if they had that option on that side of the world for those or not.

Either way, you would have to check on the towing capacities and what might be available for tow options there on one (Tranny and extra engine coolers) and tow packages from Ford. I would think the 3.5 NA would still have enough power at 263BHP, it would depend on the chassis and suspension.

it's a moot point if Ford doesn't offer a factory tow package. found no towing package option on Ford's website, for the Taurus.

sure the engine can pull it but can the unibody and suspension handle it?

Bike, remember that this is the Taurus X, initially released as the Freestyle. It is the crossover not the sedan. However, it only has a max tow of 2000lbs which that trailer weighs dry. It hasn't been made (at least in the states) since 2009 and was succeeded by the Flex, which has a max tow of 4500 w/tow package. I would look for one of those, or even an Edge (3500 max tow) if you want that type/size TV.

Following the thought, has anyone towed with a Ford Escape?
