Adding Trailer plug to back if fiver

My 'Piper is at a friends place having a three position hitch added to the rear (two for swivel wheel and center one just in case I ever pull a utility trailer). I am now thinking through how best to add a flat four pole trailer plug at the back for the swivel wheel LED lights. Without having it here in my shop right now, I'm just brainstorming the best way....

Does the brake and turn signal wiring run along the frame, or inside the walls / ceiling? If on the frame, then this is an easy add.

Would it be best to simply tap into the wiring at or near the bed of the truck and run a new 4 wire flat cable (or another type cable) along the frame rail to the soon to be installed hitch?

Anyone done this? How did you do it?

I know this isn't difficult, but in the absence of the RV I am just planning. When I get it back (and get back in the country), I'll only have a couple of days before heading to the beach in it.

Thanks in advance.

I did it on our unit, and it was pretty easy.
The wiring was ran in a split plastic loom down the inside of the street side frame member. I connected the new wiring at the pinbox junction box and routed it through the existing loom to the rear where I mounted the 4-way receptacle.

Thanks. That seems like the best option. I'll have a look at it when I get it back.
