Adjusted Blue Ox set up

How does she look? I have not weighed her yet. Dealer had it all jacked up. My front measurement to top of wheel well unloaded was 36 3/4 (H1). Trailer on with no bars 37 1/2 (H2). Bars on I got it to 37 1/4(H3). I went with the 8th link from the free end and, as you can see, there is a pretty good bend on the 750lb bars. I'm not sure I could get it to the 9th link if I wanted to as the 8th was pretty tight.
Ford says to measure the above way when using a WDH. H3 number should be 1/4 less than the difference between H1 and H2.

She had zero sway, maybe a tad 'bouncy'. Just a tad.

With that small of trailer, you should be good to go! Looks level to me! I got air bags for the little bit of bounce I have but I should've bought heavier bars on the equalizer. I may be a tad over but I take the maiden voyage with the bags tomorrow. Back to you, I'm sure you'll have no problems.

Thanks! I could get a little more nose down but would have to drop the hitch a notch and am afraid it will be too much nose down. I'd also like to see her a tad lower in the front of the TV but don't want to push that 9th link. Taking her to camp tomorrow and it's only 3 hours, flat and straight North. Easy trip.

The manual states to start with the 9th link from the free end and either go up or down from there. I can get as much as the 10th link but trust me it takes some muscle to do. Are you jacking the tongue up to release tension on the bars when linking up? Also, throw away the wrench supplied and get yourself a breaker bar and a 1.5" socket. Your knuckles and patience will thank you for it.

Thanks, I did read that. I also read where they say to have 3 full links visible under the latch once tightened down. That would be the 7th link for me. I am jacking up the tongue to release tension, maybe not far enough. I wasn't comfortable with the jack lifting my truck too far.

wardster, I routinely use the 9th and 10th links with ease. Just extend your jack a bit further and either will be no struggle at all. Lifting the truck with the jack is absolutely no problem...go for it! Love my BX!

The bounce you are getting is from the POS rear shocks Ford put on the new truck. I have a 16 and just put Bilstein 4600 series rear shocks on mine and WOW what a difference. I have the same hitch just with the 1000 lbs bars. If you have a 3500 lbs jack it will be okay to lift the truck. I do with mine, and from the looks of your pics we look to have the same truck.

I also have a Blue Ox with my Ford Expy. I use the 9th link and I do have to raise it quite a bit to relieve the tension when un-hitching.
