Air bags

Does anyone know if airbag kits come with the wireless in cab remote or is that extra. Looks to me like they each cost around 500.00 plus installation.

I can't say I've seen the bags and wireless controllers bundled together for sale. You buy the bags for your application, then pick out what control kit you want.

Bags run around $250 and the wireless controllers run closer to $400. But the wireless controller is worth it! I've got the Airlift 5000 Ultimates and Airlift wirelessAir on my truck and am happy with both systems.

The air bag kit usually has just a basic air line for inflating the bags. This can be placed anywhere for convenience such as at the rear of the truck or under the fuel door.
The wireless remote is an extra option that includes the air compressor and controller plus air hose. As stated above this is will worth the extra money and provides a clean installation.

I just installed the airlift 5000 with their wireless one controller. After the $100 rebate it came to a total of $565 for both. I took my time installing them but had them both in in a days time. Very easy to install.

I bought them off amazon. I spoke with airlift and that is where they told me to go because they were the cheapest.

In my old '15 Silverado, I had Firestone Ride Rite bags and Air Lift wireless one. So you can mix and match.
Just ordered a set of new bags for my '16 (Amazon), and received the Air Lift wireless one yesterday (Amazon).
Biggest problem I had with the install is locating a good place to install the compressor to keep it, somewhat, out of the elements.
I also DO NOT install the wire from the compressor directly to a 15A ign circuit fuse. I install another relay that is switched via the ignition circuit, but the voltage for the compressor comes directly off the battery.

I had airbags on my last truck. I just put a set of Timbrens on this one. No air to mess with. I don't notice them when empty and they seem to firm up my ride when I'm towing just the right amount. Took all of 15 minutes to install. Some don't like them but I think they're great..plus if I don't like them they will take them back..

I installed air bags to improve ride quality.

Before air bags the truck would rest on the overload springs causing a rough, jarring ride. Rolling bumps were not uncomfortable, but uneven expansion joints and sharp bumps would shake your innards!

After installing air bags and inflating to 55 psi the ride has improve tremendously. The truck no longer rest on the rough leaf overloads but instead the weight is carried by the air bags.

The ride is night and day different. After installing the bags, I do not want to drive without them.
