Air bags on a 1/2 ton?

Does anyone recommend a decent air bag for a 2011 GMC Z71 half ton? The trailer loaded is about 85% of the max and just looking at trying to even out the back end a little...
Thanx..

If you have a TT the equalizer hitch will level your truck as long as it is set up properly. Both the front and rear will drop from extra weight of TT being put on the truck. On other hand if you pull a 5R then air bags will help level your truck.
I have Firestone bags on my truck because of pulling a 5R. I love being more level when pulling and I'm not blinding oncoming traffic at night.

I have Airride with the on board compressor. I haven't had a chance to really try them out but they seem to be real nice. Camping World has a deal going on until Dec. 29. $29.00 for any installation. Installation was around $400 so I saved a bunch. You might want to check it out soon. Even if you have to drive a distance to get to a CW, you can still save a bunch. This is unless you plan to install them yourself.

I've had airlift load levelers (air bags) on my truck for 9 years.
I have WD hitch but I've been known to haul a 500 LB motorcycle in the bed
of my truck along with fire wood and pull my trailer.
I use the air bags in those situations.

Also rarely I have gotten a full load of mulch. No trailer so no WD. Air bags
are handy for that too!

I went cheap and put them on myself and don't have an onboard compressor.
The compressor is nice addition if yer spoiled....
Just kidding! I have a slime brand 12v tire inflator that I can use on the
air bags as well as bikes, motorcycles, car tires etc. Cost about $20 so much cheaper than the onboard compressor which only inflates your air bags.

Installed Airlift 5000 bags on my tundra in 2009. Love em. Also use the wireless air controller for on the fly adjustments. Keeps me level with 5er at about 45 psi.

I can air tires and run air tools with my on board air because I'm spoiled....

Installed a set of Airlift (from Truck Suspension, Bilstein Shocks, Firestone Air Bags, Timbren, Leaf Springs - TruckSpring.com) on my 2002 1500 Ram back in 2006 to pull our 2005 Flagstaff 8528GTSS. It was a great all around purchase...good price, easy to install myself, aired up to 90lbs to pull the 5er and down to 10lb when not loaded. With 10lbs of pressure, you could not tell you had bags on the truck. I would surely buy them again and would recommend them for just about anyone pulling a 5er with a 1500.

I put AirLifts on with the onboard compressor on my 2000 Silverado and took them off and put them on my 05 Silverado 1500 and have never had a problem with any part of the system. So, they have been in operation for 13 yrs problem free. Never leak down either.
