And you're likely right, because with the available power on tap you probably don't hit that mark very often for very long.
It varies by model and engine combo, but 85% power demand is kinda the mark where the compressor turns off. Note, power demand, not throttle position. It's an algorithm that takes into account throttle position, vehicle speed, engine speed, transmission gear along with other parameters.
So if you never need to hammer it, it'll never turn off.
