Air deflector

Has anybody have a air deflector on their truck for towing a 5th wheel? Will it help or not. I tow a 2012 Wildcat Sterling F32RL.

The only thing I think it helps with, is keeping bugs of the front of of the trailer.

Why were/are similar deflecctors so popular on over-the-road trucks if they are so ineffective? I was curious on this, too, as DW has been eyeballing a new 5'er....

Not sure if they help or not, but there are guys out there who just like to hang stuff on their trucks/cars and I think these fall into that category.

Newer rigs are already aerodynamic and don't need the deflectors like the flat faced older rigs or over-the-road trucks.

The best is to slow down & wax the front of the 5th wheel & wash it more often.

The front of your Wildcat is the air deflector. LOL
If you had an old square corrugated siding fiver you might benefit from an AD.
