Air suspension/coil assist bags

Do air suspension bags make a huge impact? I have minimal squat but dont like seeing it at all. Whats the general consensus on them?

I have Air Lift 1000 on my Ram 1500 Ecodiesel and I tow a 251RKS Surveyor. The rig sits level with EZ Lift WDH. I keep about 20-25psi in them and it does help keep the bounce at a minimum.

Are you pulling a TT or a fifth wheel? If you're pulling a TT with a WD hitch, you should adjust it. A properly set up WD hitch should virtually eliminate sag on the rear of the truck.

I had air bags on my '04 Jeep Grand Cherokee when towing my '08 Roo 23SS and also on my '12 Armada when towing a '14 Flagstaff 27BESS. While I sat level with both TV/TT, having the bags with some air gave me peace of mind that there was a little something else that kept the TV rear from bouncing on bumps, etc. I usually ran about 30-35 pounds while towing. Never had a problem.
My son has had our Jeep GC for almost 4 years now and he still has the bags. So, that particular set has been on and leak-free for over 8 years, almost 9 years.

We have had Firestone Ride-Rite air bags on our last 3 TVs and on the Sunseeker 2500TS. I have installed all of them myself except for the Sunseeker that came with them. There has never been a leak or a failure and they are constructed for longevity. The bags are kept at 10 lbs when not towing and as much as 60 lbs when towing on the TVs. Loaded or unloaded, the ride is comfortable with the air adjustments.

On a dealer's recommendation, the first set was on a Ram hauling a slide-in. They did a marvelous job at leveling and stabilizing. The next two were on a Sierra 1500 and Silverado 1500 towing 7500 lbs w/o a WDH. They really do the job and will be on future TVs.

I also have Air Lift 1000 on my Ram 1500 Eco Diesel and I tow a RockWood 2440WS 5th wheel. The rig sits level at about 25 - 30 psi in them and it does help keep the bounce and sway at a minimum. Do yourself a favor and go the extra for an on board compressor with remote. Makes the entire package super convenient to use even when going down the road. I would not have another 1500 tow vehicle without airlift and compressor. FYI; I found the best deal on Amazon.

I looked at the on board compressor when I bought mine but I'm cheap and passed and instead bought a $30 12v compressor. I usually stop at rest areas every couple hours to stretch my legs, walk the dog and check things out. If I need to add air, I would do it then. So far, I've never needed to. Saving $260 bought me a few nights of camping and a couple tanks of diesel.

I use the non-airbag Timbren System from Etrailer. Love it!

I run Air Lift Bags on my 03 Duramax. Not so much to level, although it does help, but more for ride. Fifth wheels have a tendency to porpoise front to back especially on concrete highways, and the airbags help take some of that out. I also like that I can adjust the ride by varying the pressure in the bags. The other great feature is that when you get to your destination you let the air out and the truck rides better with no weight in it.
