Airlift 72000 wireless compressor install

Decided to get one of these for the simple fact the price is good and can't seem to find the Firestone wireless kit.
It's going on a 2010 F150 supercrew and would like to hear from those who live in Northern climates as to where you have mounted the compressor and air block assembly to protect it. Our winters here in Alberta are getting nastier and longer every year and the salt and and crap as well.

I have never had the spare down so will have to have a look. You ever have any moisture issues causing freeze ups? I will be putting a water trap or drier between the compressor and valve block.

I'm not up north but in Louisiana the concern is mud and dirt. I made a shield with roof flashing to cover the outside of mine. It's mounted above the frame at rear left wheel.

I'm 17 miles from the beach in So. Cal, so I can't comment on long and nasty winters but I mounted my compressor above the spare tire. unless the radio is off and I'm standing still, I can't hear the compressor running at all...

I finally got around to installing the 72000 and seems to be working ok. I installed compressor above spare tire on the rear crossmember and the controller on the front one. Was able to run the intake hose up the left rear tailgate post through a factory hole and air filter tie wrapped to the mount for hard top.
The only problem I have had so far is the wireless when sitting in drivers seat sometimes looses contact with the manifold when trying to adjust pressure. No problem when sitting but sometimes does it when driving and have to move it towards rear seat. So far it does what they say but will see just how well it does when the nasty winter comes here.

Mine worked great for about 28 months. Then manifold went bonkers. Appears humidity has rusted the solenoids up. Just haven't gotten a new one yet and I miss my wireless controller.

Made it 4 months past warranty. Funny how that works. I will be surprised if mine lasts that long.

We have high humidity in LA. I suspect it would last much longer in a dryer climate or with some type of moisture remover attached. But the concept is sound and convenient.
