Andersen No Sway WDH

I will be getting my Andersen No Sway WDH installed Wednesday morning. I will take the combination for a few trips on Wednesday to dial in the WD. I will not be taking a long trip until June with this combination, but I will update with my impressions as I put some miles on this new hitch. I am intrigued with this new design and just had to try it. I have noticed quite a few Airstreams are using this set up and they seem really happy with it, so it should be a good way to go.
More info as I get it.

Regards,

SPPD

I'll be very interested to hear from you, especially if you are able to provide actual front axle weight before attaching trailer, after attaching trailer, and after engaging WDH.
This looks to be an interesting way to control sway. But purely from a leverage point of view (trigonometry, really), I do not see how this hitch can transfer any significant weight off of the rear axle to the front axle.

The chains seem to pull straight back, with no upward force. And it does not look like there is any means of adjusting the tilt of the head. But I have not been able to find a .pdf of the instructions to really read up on it. Only the info on their website, which does not go into details of how it works.

Please do follow up!

These are not my weights, but are from another Andersen user. These are on a much smaller TV and TT than mine, but the numbers are quite respectable.

Dave,
I don't know how you keep up with so much on this site.
Thanks for the link!

The Andersen is installed and I took it for a 2 mile drive and it towed very well. It was dead silent which is nice. When the springs are compressed 1/4 inch the truck was perfectly level. I won't have an opportunity to get weights until June but I could see the weight shifting forward as the springs were compressed. So far I am very happy, although I still need to get a few more miles on this combination before I can give an in depth review.

Install took about 40 minutes and the only issue was the propane tanks had to be relocated 2 inches forward to allow the brackets to be installed.

More to follow,

SPPD
