Used the Andersen WDH for 3 years towing a 6,500# TT. Performed as advertised. No sway, no noise, easy to put on and take off, stores in a 12" by 12" tub when no in use. I compressed the spacers to the 7th thread and that moved 140# up to the steer axle and about the same back to the trailer axles. My SUV's receiver was rated at 600# and I was able to manage the load just fine.
Conclusion: Recommended without reservation.

I did extensive research before choosing the Andersen "No Sway Hitch System". After my experience using it to tow over 1,000 miles, I quickly became a big fan of this product and cheerfully shared with anyone willing listen why I think it is a great performing hitch. It is light, easy to put into operation, and has improved my overall towing experience. I can also now share how great I think the team is that stands behind this product. I originally purchased the system with the 8" drop for another tow vehicle. The 8" drop was not quite right with my new tow vehicle. Andersen sent me the 4" drop without charging me for it and I believe it will work perfectly. I doubt that you can find a better product with better Customer Service, Anywhere!

Made a believer out of me. After towing 5ers for over 15 years, recently went back to TT (DW tired of steps) I was very skeptical and concern about handling. Prior to the 5ers I had 3 TTs, all with the older bar, chains and friction control. Not knocking that system, just remember how it worked. Purchased Andersen WDH after much research and couldn't be happier. This 34' TT tows every bit as good as my 37' 5er.

I've had both. I don't think I'll ever go back to the traditional WDH again. The Andersen works as advertised. The only issue I have is that the brackets tend to slip so I'm going to have a friend tack weld them to the trailer frame.
I got the Andersen because the other hitch head was getting too heavy for me to lift. I didn't want to move to a 5th wheel or motorhome so tried this hitch first. Glad I did.

I used the Andersen on my TT before going to the the 5er. It was a great improvement over the old bars and chains. I still have my Andersen if anyone is interested in a used Andersen let me know.

What would the WDH go for and would it be cost effective to ship as I live in NY.

I am very happy with my experience with this hitch, but I cannot emphasize enough the importance of making sure you order the correct length drop/ rise. Many prospective buyers may think, like I did, that the 8" drop offers the same hole positions adjacent to the receiver as the 4" model. This is not the case, which means you could have a problem leveling your TT if your hitch needs to be mounted close to your receiver output. Because I needed to mount my hitch closer to my receiver output with my second tow vehicle, the TT would not level with the 8" shank in the up or down position. In other words, the hitch mounted too low in the "down" position, and too high in the "up" position. The 4" drop solves this problem.

FYI Anderson sells a 2.5" receiver unit too. It isn't listed on their site, but if you desire to go to the 2.5" instead of the 2.0" default, they do sell it.
My F-250 has the 2.5" but I use the sleeve and too lazy/cheap to buy the new 2.5" one. But I thought about it.
