Andersen Weight distribution hitch

We have it and used it all last year. DH is really happy with it. We have never had any issues and he says he can hardly tell the camper is back there. We plan to cross the mackinaw bridge this summer with it. That's our true test!

There are people on other forums like the airstream forum who have had considerable issues with wear on the actual trailer receiver due to the way the anderson puts pressure on the hitch latching mechanism. I would personally do a goolge search for anderson hitch issues and see for yourself as the comments are out there.

We towed our surveyor sp 280 all last summer with no problems. It worked very well and was super easy to hitch and unhitch.

We purchased the andersen hitch last year and while apprehensive i liked the concept. It has performed much better than i expected. Easy to hook up and unhook. Great product. We have towed about 1500 to 2000 miles and love it.

Everyone been doing a lot of research on line talking with people in the business so far only really good things about this system the air stream trailer has a different latching configuration so I've been told thus a pinch pointe, at this time I have spoken with Jason from Anderson and was told they don't normally do money back but said he was confident with the product and would honor a 30 day guarantee I would also like to state Jason answered everything I threw at him very professional and courteous, looks like they just made another believer out of me. They have been doing this since I believe he said around 2000 with hitches and around 2008 with weight distribution and sway control. At present they have about 3500 hundred units out with lifetime warranty, my order is in. Will follow up with actual testing myself

Seems like there are threads all over the place about the Andersen hitch. I have only had mine a short time, but will relate my thoughts for now. It is super quiet, I like that. It is lightweight, like that too. It is clean, gotta like that. Cuts down on sway and gives a smoother ride, isn't that what it's all about?

I do not think it would be the best hitch for the really heavy tongue weights, say over 800 pounds or so, due to the method of weight distribution. It tows much more smoothly and quietly than my well adjusted Husky WD hitch with two friction sway bars.

My tongue weight is in the 720 pound range with a 6,000 Puma trailer. Works great.

Well I'm at 740 and almost 6000 at 33. 6 ft. Should know Monday cause I'm picking it up then again all I have heard is good things there's always gonna be someone out there talking trash

I bought our Andersen WD hitch last spring and put on just over 1500 miles using it. This was the first camper that we needed a WD hitch for, I was looking at the Equalizer and Andersen, I went with the Andersen emailing them with a couple of questions and ended up getting a call from their area sales manager. He answered every question I had, he even gave me his cell number and told me to call him if I ever had any questions or problems.

According to fender measurements the hitch does a pretty good job of weight transfer, but our TT only had a hitch weight around 650lbs. It does a good job at sway control also, I have towed with 35mph crosswinds and gusts to 45-50 and I felt in control the whole time. But probably the most impressive thing is the no bounce feature of the hitch, one stop that we go camping with a bunch of friends a couple times a year has 6 mile rough section of road with 3 RR crossings tossed in. This road was the prefect test for the hitch and it rode great, absolutely no bounce at all!! My cousin who has an Equalizer on his 32' TT said that he thought he was going to bounce out of his seat especially when he hit the RR crossings, he actually ended up taking the other route home which adds about 20 miles because he didn't want to deal with the bouncing again

I'm up in the air about this hitch... I have a Husky WD now with one sway control, I'm towing a 31' weighing in around 8500-8800 with a tongue weight of appx 900. It drives pretty good but I just got,it and only went about 80 miles so far, I could tell when the wind picked up but it wasn't bad. Do you think the Andersen will help or is my trailer too big? I also added a Air Lift system which almost eliminated the bounce.

Give them a call at the company I have been running the TT all over in wind snow seems to be a good as they say really cool part is backing up no noise no bounce and I believe it is rated at 14000 .lbs it'll handle your TT

We have a Rockwood 34 foot and about the same weight as yours, tow with a F150. The hitch takes out most of the bounce and all the sway. It is so easy to hook up and unhook you will not beleive it. I have not regreted my purchase and in fact rate it in the top 5 of the best purchase we have made. With the Andersen hitch the air lift might not be needed

One sway control is not enough for 31' TT. It's recomended to go with two for TT's over 26'.Pro Series Friction Sway Control Kit - Economy - by Draw-Tite, Reese and Hidden Hitch Pro Series Weight Distribution 83660

Right now my better half is driving 75 S in Kentucky along semi doing 65 with no problem in a ford 150 with Anderson wd
