Anderson no sway hitch.

I have used this twice on short trips and never going over 55 mph.But the roads that I was on were very windy with tight corners and the trailer (26) ft never broke loose from it's grip on the road.I will be taking a trip of 3000 to 4000 miles this summer up many mountain roads and winding valleys thru B C and Alberta.I will post how it went.

You should be fine. Pulled our Outback last year 7000 miles and no problems in the mountains or the flat lands.

I have had an Andersen for two years now and it has been great. Previously had a Reese. I just bought a 33'-6" toyhauler and hauled it home from the dealer (70 miles) and it towed great. I am leaving in the morning for a 400 mile trip and this time I will have about 1200 lbs loaded in the back end behind the axles. This should give it a real test. If it handles this it should handle anything.

Anderson hitch

Thanks Dave and Sue for your imfo. It's really helpful to have someone with experience on using this hitch to pass on good information. It seem that negative remarks have come from people that have little knowledge on how it works.I found it very easy to hook up and level the trailer and truck.Being new with this hitch I appreciate any good tips .

Anderson no sway hitch.

Check the brackets where they mount to the frame. Mine "moved" on me and it was the last place I looked- had a bad wiggle. Sorry- they shifted/slid forwRd. Moved them back and re tightened all again.

hitch

Hondaman174.I read in the manual that they would need to be tightened.I have a new kind of bracket where the bolt on top rests on the frame as does the bottom one and they tighten up when the unit is towed .the other way is to run a short weld along the bracket.Harvester

Could all of you guys (who use the Anderson setup) include your TV max tow rating, and the approx. loaded weights of your trailer?

My TV is rated at 9000- but if you look at the year before it's 10,000 no changes made. Running about 1k tongue and 8000 loaded

At some point, standards were introduced for towing claims. That may have taken effect in the year that the capacity dropped 1000 pounds.
