Anti-rattle devises for 2014 Ram 2500 with OEM Class V hitch

With the design of the factory Class V receiver hitch, I can't find any anti-rattle devises that will fit. I believe I've looked at everything out on the internet and nothing I found will fit my setup. Has anyone with a RAM found a devise that will fit and work? With all the excessive slop/rattling my hitch and receiver is showing a lot of wear.

I have 2.5 inch receiver that I reduce to 2 inch with a sleeve. My WDH does have a small amount of up and down movement while in the receiver but once the trailer is dropped on the tongue weight keeps it from moving. Mine doesn't show any unusual wear. Are you having a different sort of problem or it is related to a sloppy 2.5 to 2 inch reducer?

My WDH has a 2 1/2" shank so I'm not using the reducer. The shank is real sloppy and shows quite a bit of wear also the corners of the receiver shows wear. While towing you don't hear any rattling, but with this sloppy fit it wearing on my receiver hitch and the WHD shank. A few times I left the hitch on during short CG stays and it bangs and rattle.

Since I can find any anti-rattle devices that will work on my setup, I decide to experiment this evening. I'm machining out some clamps. Will have a machined plate on top and one on the bottom. They will be squeezed together with bolts. Almost have the top piece done. May work, may not.

Interesting idea. I hope it works for you. I thought of trying some kind of shims initially, but the shank didn't seem to rattle that I noticed. I have a Curt brand hitch instead of the oem so maybe that makes a difference.

I wrapped mine with 1" wide electrical tape. Not permanent but stops most of it. I know I will have to do it again next year, but it's cheap and takes about 10 minutes of trial and error to get it snug. I make it too tight at first, and peel some off to make it fit snug, so I don't have a bunch of pieces... that doesn't work as well, and they ball up. I do the sleeve and the hitch, and it works better than I thought it would.

I wedge shortened wooden shims into the gaps on the top and one side. Works great and they stay put until I remove the hitch.

I actually tried shimming. Put a plastic one on the top. After 200 miles it was smashed all up. I have .100 gap and when towing there's had to be a lot of force moving that shank up and down in the receiver hitch.

Camping world has a u-bolt set up with a round bar set up that I used. Works great.

On my experimental project the top piece is just about completed. Need to start on the bottom. I'm hoping this will prevent the shank from any movement.
